Do We Believe?

My Lord said, “And these signs shall follow them that believe
In my name shall they cast out demons
They shall speak with new tongues
They shall take up serpents
And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them
They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”
Tell me is this what we see, my sister, my brother?

Is this what we see? Is this what we see?
Is this the truth that we walk in? Is this our reality?
Makes me ask, do we believe? Do we really believe?
Is it Christ living in us that defines our identity?
Do we truly believe?

Do we reinterpret Scripture to align with what we see
Instead of persevering in faith to change our reality?
Do we simply lower the standard to justify our iniquity?
Do we misunderstand God’s will and twist His sovereignty? (Refrain)

Do I blame it on my Father when the fault really lies with me?
Could it be that I’m too distracted to sit at His feet?
Do I merely look to others to define Christianity?
What if they are unknowingly serving my Lord’s enemy? (Refrain)
