Break Your Body
(May 25, 2019)

Just as Your body was broken and hung on the tree
Lord, break Your body and let Your work start with me
Break our hearts with that which breaks Your own
Turn to flesh that which has turned to stone

Lord, break Your body; Lord, break Your body
Bring repentance and revival
Lord, break Your body; Lord, break Your body
Break her to assure her survival

Just as the fire refines silver and gold
Lord, bring Your fire to purify hearts that are cold
Consume all self and again Lord start with me
Put in us a fire that will burn for eternity

Just as Your rivers are ever flowing and do not cease
May Holy Spirit ever flow to bring healing and peace
Cleanse our hearts from all that would hinder Your breath
Bring to life those who are headed for death

“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.” Psalm 51:17

“For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” Isaiah 57:15

“Until we are truly broken, we cannot truly die. Until we truly die, we cannot be truly resurrected unto new life with real love and power.”
