I am a chosen child

A child of my Father because He made that choice
Therefore I choose to serve Him and listen to His voice
Because He first loved me, I will love Him in return
Because He wants to teach me, I desire to learn (Refrain)

A child of my Father because He showed me grace
Therefore I will obey Him and gladly seek His face
Because He knows what’s best for me, I’ll trust Him in return
Because he shares His wisdom, I am able to discern (Refrain)

A child of my Father because of what He’s done
He had to sacrifice so that I could be His son
Because He gave His best for me, I’ll give my best in return
Because He values purity, from evil I will turn (Refrain)

A child of my Father who gives me all good things
Best of all — a family and many more siblings
Because He daily meets my needs, I’ll be thankful in return
For He has poured out blessings that I did not have to earn (Refrain)

A child of my Father who will not let me roam
He’s given me security and an eternal home
Because He will not leave me, I’ll not leave Him in return
He’s given me what matters most for all else will surely burn (Refrain)
