Running After Yeshua
(a Song for Brian and Joanna)
(April, 2017)

It was just a few years ago that Yeshua set him free
And He opened up his eyes to the beauty of purity
He then fell deeply in love with the Lover of His soul
And zealously joined Him to heal and make others whole

It seemed she’d loved the Father from the very start
And her earthly Daddy helped protect her precious heart
Her vision was to humbly serve Yeshua in foreign lands
She saw midwifery as a means of fulfilling these plans

They were running after Yeshua
And walking in His ways
Trusting Yahweh with each step
And giving Him the praise for each new day

When he sensed that it was time for him to seek a wife
He prayed fervently for someone that would fit his life
He had a passion for Israel and for setting captives free
Yet he knew of no one whose heart beat for both of these

While interning down in Tennessee she did many things
Like help deliver babies and push Smithlets on their swings
She expected she would be there for about two years
But God had other plans in mind that at first brought tears

They were running after Yeshua
And walking in His ways
Trusting Yahweh with each step
And giving Him the praise for each trying day

Wisely he sought counsel from his friends and family
He patiently prayed and waited trusting Yahweh to answer his plea
He continued to serve the Father in Texas, Africa, and Israel
Laying hands on those in need and seeing many made well

As always God’s timing was perfect for her to depart
For she was able to travel to Texas and attend a Kickstart
She was not hasty to accept what they claimed was real
But later was rejoicing when she herself got healed

They were running after Yeshua
And walking in His ways
Trusting Yahweh with each step
And giving Him the praise for each miraculous day

Her family heard of a young man who had a powerful walk
Her father soon made contact and they began to talk
Last year at family week her family got to know him more
He also saw her heart and recalled his request of the Lord

We all know how the story ends or should we say it starts?
As they gather with their friends and join their two like hearts
Oh how we rejoice with them in Yahweh’s perfect plan
We’re reminded of our Bridegroom when we see her with this man

Now together they’re running after Yeshua
And walking in His ways
Trusting Yahweh with each step
And giving Him the praise for each new day
For each trying day, for each miraculous day
