  1. A Child's Eyes

Lyrics

A Child’s Eyes

Mom, look at the pretty flowers, the neighbors have them too
I’d like to go out in the lawn and pick some just for you
We can put them in a bowl and enjoy them the whole day through
I know that some might call them weeds, but I thank Jesus for such a view

A child’s eyes, so young and yet so wise
There’s so much we don’t realize until we look through a child’s eyes
A child’s eyes, we all could use a child’s eyes
Each day is a new surprise when we look through a child’s eyes

“Honey, I am very sorry,” she said, “I hope you know that I still care”
“It’s just that I’ve been very busy and certain tasks have been up in the air
I will get to the laundry next, see your clothes in that pile on the chair”
He said, “It’s ok mommy, it’s really my fault. I’m the one who wore my underwear”

A child’s eyes, not yet hiding behind a disguise
There’s so much we don’t realize until we look through a child’s eyes
A child’s eyes — we all could use a child’s eyes
Each day is a new surprise when we look through a child’s eyes

Mom, look at what the dog has done, he failed to make it to the door
I’m so thankful you let us keep him since he sometimes makes extra chores
Just look at the bright side, mom, for the work could have been much more
At least he hit the tile this time and not our carpeted floor

A child’s eyes — clearer than the bluest of skies
There’s so much we don’t realize until we look through a child’s eyes
A child’s eyes — we all could use a child’s eyes
Each day is a new surprise when we look through a child’s eyes

Mom, I know that milk will make me sick, and wheat makes me act like a bear
I can’t even have ice cream or pizza, and sometimes it doesn’t seem fair
But God has still been good to me, and I know that He really does care
After all, I’ll be in heaven one day, and I’ll eat tons of ice cream there

A child’s eyes seem to see so much more for their size
There’s so much we don’t realize until we look through a child’s eyes
A child’s eyes — we all could use a child’ eyes
Each day is a new surprise when we look through a child’s eyes

“Let the little children come to Me for such is the kingdom,” He said
Those who do not receive it like them are not saved and are spiritually dead
For it’s those who live with humility, not those who strive to get ahead
It’s those who repent and see their need, for whom Christ suffered and bled
A child’s eyes — not yet clouded by the world and its lies
There’s so much we don’t realize until we look through a child’s eyes
A child’s eyes — we all could use a child’s eyes
Each day is a new surprise when we look through a child’s eyes
